Cotentin - Day Three

Vero and Philippe took me on an incredible tour of the peninsula today - a hike through a tiny village with a picnic on the rocks near the beach, then a tour by car of several beautiful little villages along the seaside.

I even got to take a short nap on the beach.

The tour included a stop for ice cream (for them), croissant and pain aux raisins (for me) and coffee for everyone at a cafe in Barfleur; then more little towns with sweeping views of the cliffs and dunes and ocean. It was glorious.

And to cap it all off, we arrived home to the news that President Biden had agreed to step down and is now supporting Kamala Harris, with many Democratic leaders following suit! We celebrated this extraordinary good news with a meal of mussels cooked in wine, and local cider.

All told, an amazing day. 🤗
